Paradise Lost

Last night I ventured out into the NYC night looking for a little nasty fun. I have been wishing for a place to play that had some music and dancing mixed in with BDSM. When I read the advert for "Paradise Lost", well, I thought it just might be paradise found. So I packed my tools and headed off loaded for bear...

The club were it was held was called Rehab, located at 25 Avenue B between, 2nd and 3rd Street. Downstairs, there was a live band and a full bar. Upstairs was the "play" room. It was an attractive space with a bar and ample comfortable seating. The DJ made sure the music was hot, and there was a screen with interesting visuals playing. To bill it as a "FLOOR DEVOTED ENTIRELY TO THE ART OF PLAY" though? Not so much. OK, devoted to "play", maybe. BDSM play? An afterthought at best. When I first walked in, I could not even tell it was a play party. Upon closer inspection, there were a couple of St Andrews crosses, and something with D-rings on it being used as a coffee table. One cross was positioned so to get to the toilet and coat check, you would have to walk between the Dom and their sub. The other cross was surrounded by tables within 3-4 feet . Mostly people were just leaning on the stuff. But, I figured the night was young, so waited to see what developed.

The crowd was a little thin when I got there but that improved quickly. One after another, the prettiest eye candy you ever did see sauntered in. Plenty of leather, latex, lace, skin, vampire contact lenses, perfect makeup and hair, in a rainbow of creative colors were being shown off. The scenery was easy on the eyes and entertaining. People were grooving to the music and each other. The crowd was only slightly cliquish and pretty friendly. It was a good time to be had.

The upstairs bar was slightly removed from the actual "play" area. It was well-stocked and the drinks were cheap by NYC standards, $5.00 well drinks pretty much all night. It was enhanced by a very comfy human carpet ... I wonder if he had to pay for the privilege of being trampled. In this room there were two vending tables with leather and floggers and some latex. The atmosphere was further enhanced when the "human buffets" came out. Two saran-wrapped clad lovelies covered with whipped cream, fresh fruit, mini brownies and... munchkins. On the bar. As if munchkins weren't tempting enough... sigh.

As it got later, there was more BDSM play to be seen. The scenes were short, light and theatrical. One Domme had dollar bills sticking out of her bustier like a stripper. The participants, Dom and sub, were enjoying themselves. Even the other Domme who had to stop every time someone had to go to the bathroom was smiling.

All in all, Paradise Lost is a wonderful kinky party. If you want to have a couple of drinks, enjoy live music and dancing, and a pretty crowd in a BDSM-themed environment, it's really great. If you are looking for a place where you can actually swing a full-sized flogger, it's not so great. Bring the shorter stuff, paddles, riding crops, canes, etc. and you might do better.

Paradise Lost is really fun but it would be perfect if they just moved the furniture around a little!!!

Count Boogie's Thanksgiving

BDSM Kinky Thanksgiving Turkey

Thanksgiving Distractions

So what's a NYC Kinkster to do once the post-turkey lull subsides? Well , there are a few possibilities. DsF is having their Thanksgiving Social at Paddles on Friday night, the 28th. On the same night, Paradise Lost is having a party that looks highly enticing: Hot DJ's, Kink, Vending and a dance floor, hmmm.... Our friends at TES are taking a weekend off, but they are already plotting for their New Years Party which is just bound to be fantabulous.

On Saturday, November 29th, Brooklyn is the place to be. To kick off the evening a group of kinksters are getting together informally at the Tea Lounge in Park Slope for some Scrabble at 6:00 o'clock. You heard right, Scrabble - how kinky is that! Hmmm, I wonder what the score for "Gynemimetophilia" would be? After you have exhausted you lexicon, you could grab one of your new literate companions and head over to CasBar for the Pimp and Ho ball.

For other DsF events, you can check their calendar. TES also keeps a calendar. Also, the nycALTevents calendar should help you track down the latest kink and sex-positive events in the area.

The (not so secret) Freak wishes each of you a kinky and orgasmic Thanksgiving.
